Joy Mangano
Inventor, Entrepreneur & Restaurateur

A knack for inventing and designing sensational products and marketing them through electronic retailing has catapulted Joy Mangano to business stardom. Joy Mangano is the president and founder of Ingenious Designs LLC (IDL) a wholly-owned subsidiary of HSN. Her first hit was the self-wringing Miracle Mop in 1992 selling millions at a time, and now her famous Huggable Hangers® remain HSN’s #1 selling product and over 300 million are in homes across America. Joy’s success as an electronic retailing personality has been legendary. Joy has most recently been named one of Fast Company’s “Most Creative People of 2009”, amongst Marc Jacobs to the President of Microsoft. She has appeared on 20/20, NBC’s Today Show, ABC’s The View, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She, and her products, have been profiled in Newsday, USA Today, Investors Business Daily, People, Entrepreneur, Glamour, Lucky, InStyle, Good Housekeeping, Town & Country, Redbook, and O, The Oprah Magazine.

Beyond inventing and selling her own brand, Joy has become a brand-building mogul creating an empire of iconic brands. She develops and manages five other celebrities including: Supermodel IMAN, Chef Todd English, Tennis Star Serena Williams, Author and Personality Bruce Lubin and of course Fitness Expert Frank Sepe. Joy has even shared the stage with her fellow brand Chef Todd English as they launched GreenPan™ cookware, with breakthrough Thermolon™ ceramic non-stick technology turning the cooking industry on its ear. GreenPan™ made HSN history, breaking all cookware sales records on TV!

Born and raised on Long Island, Joy proudly received the Long Island Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Enrnst and Young. Being philanthropic is a part of Joy’s persona and she is especially sensitive to needs here on Long Island. Joy has received honors from the Make A Wish Foundation and continues to support many groups and foundations.

Joy is a mom who raised three children single-handedly. She says, “They keep my priorities straight and truly represent what I am most proud of in life.” Christie, 28, graduated with honors from Providence College and she is now following her mother’s lead at IDL as Vice President of Brand Product Development/Strategic Marketing & Sourcing. Bobby, 27, graduated from Columbia Law and is employed by one of the top law firms in New York. Jackie, 25, attended Fashion Institute of Technology and signed with one of the top ten modeling agencies, Major International in New York. Jackie was a model on Bravo Network’s hit, “Project Runway” TV Show.

A tight-knit team, Joy’s family has an iron bond. Whether it is a holiday, event, trip or just an ordinary weekend, there is never a dull family moment! Executive Chef: Joseph Balbo

Chef Joseph Balbo has an innate and highly developed understanding of the
culinary and hospitality industry with over 15 years of experience. Joseph grew
up in an Italian family passionate about delicious food and he approaches the
culinary arena with a creative and refreshing manner in which style matters. Even
from a young age Joseph knew that being a master chef would be his destiny,
landing his first Executive Chef role at the young age of 20. Born and raised on
Long Island, he was expertly trained in The New York Institute of Technology and
received his degree in culinary arts. Joseph has worked with Long Island's
corporate elite at some of the hottest restaurant destinations New York has to
offer, and his talents have been so in demand he has even carved out time to
consult with premier establishments to offer his breadth of creative knowledge.
Joseph was fortunate to undergo premier training in Calabria, Italy at The
Culinary Italian Institute, allowing him to sharpen his culinary skills, while mastering
Italian and European techniques – the very foundation of which the top chefs of
the world have built their careers upon. While in Italy, he absorbed all elements
of the culinary world working in bakeries, butcheries, gelato shops, top
restaurants, and beyond. His thirst for cooking hit a plateau when he joined the
team of one of Italian's culinary masterminds in a premier fine dining
establishment. Here he was able to learn from the best while starting to become
his personal best in the kitchen. As well Joseph has a wealth of knowledge in the
history and components of Italian wine, and has become a sommelier
specializing in this category of wine. As a result, fabulous food pairings have
become quite a passion of his and a "must-have" when you join Joseph for a meal.

He has had the honor of working side-by-side with Master and Michelin rated
chefs, but Joseph has proved to be a culinary force all his own. He was one of
the youngest chefs to receive an award for Outstanding Chef of Long Island,
and he too has won numerous culinary competitions amongst his notable peers
in the industry. Joseph has stepped into culinary royalty making several culinary
appearances in front of the respected team from the James Beard House and it
is without a doubt that he is one of the most impressive and talented chefs in the
industry today.

These various roles and impressive credentials have helped Joseph nurture his
true passion for his work and enabled him to build dedicated clientele that will
follow this amazing chef to his new home Porto Vivo – Huntington's premier
dining destination. He is well respected by all that encounter him within the work
environment and his success in the industry further stems from his passion for
phenomenal food and fine wines. As the Executive Chef, Joseph is dedicated to
making your entire food experience first-rate every time you dine. He joins the
Porto Vivo family in hopes to offer a creative culinary edge and deliver a rich
